1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Mike Conway, d/b/a REKALLD (“REKALLD,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, sells, shares, and otherwise processes personal information in connection with your use of our websites, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not use the Services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: name, email address, authentication identifiers, and account preferences.
- Household and inventory information: descriptions of vehicles, appliances, and other products you register, including vehicle identification numbers (VINs), makes, models, model years, serial numbers, UPCs, purchase dates, purchase prices, retailers, and the locations you assign to items.
- Documents and media: receipts, product labels, photographs, warranty documents, and other files you upload, together with text extracted from them.
- Communications: correspondence you send to us, including support requests and match-correction reports.
- Payment information: processed by our payment processor; we do not store full payment card numbers.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device and browser information, IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, log data, usage data, and information collected through cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 9.
2.3 Information From Third Parties
- Vehicle attributes decoded from VINs via governmental databases; recall and campaign data published by federal agencies; and information from authentication providers you elect to use (e.g., Google Sign-In).
3. How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information to: provide, maintain, and improve the Services; match your registered items against published recall records; deliver notifications you have requested; process transactions; provide customer support; conduct analytics and research; develop new products and services; enforce our terms; comply with legal obligations; and for the commercial purposes described in Section 4.
4. Sale and Sharing of Personal Information
This section contains disclosures required by applicable state privacy laws. Please read it carefully.
4.1 Categories We May Sell or Share
We may sell personal information, or share it for targeted advertising purposes, to or with data analytics providers, advertising networks, market research firms, manufacturers, insurers, and other commercial partners. The categories of personal information that may be sold or shared include:
- Identifiers (such as name, email address, and IP address);
- Commercial information (such as products owned, purchase dates, purchase prices, and retailers);
- Vehicle information (such as VIN-derived vehicle attributes, makes, models, and model years);
- Household composition inferences (such as inferences drawn from the presence of juvenile products);
- Approximate geolocation;
- Internet activity information (such as usage of the Services).
4.2 Your Right to Opt Out
You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. You may exercise this right at any time by:
- Clicking the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer of our website;
- Adjusting your privacy settings at /app/settings#privacy; or
- Emailing us at alerts@rekalld.com with the subject line “Opt-Out Request.”
We honor opt-out preference signals (such as the Global Privacy Control) as required by applicable law. We do not sell or share the personal information of users we know to be under 16 years of age.
4.3 De-Identified and Aggregated Data
We may create de-identified or aggregated data sets (for example, statistics regarding recall repair rates across vehicle populations) and may use, disclose, or sell such data for any lawful purpose. Where we rely on de-identified data, we maintain it without attempting re-identification, consistent with applicable law.
5. Other Disclosures of Personal Information
We may also disclose personal information to: service providers and processors acting on our behalf (hosting, email delivery, payments, analytics); other members of a household account you join, to the extent of that household’s shared inventory; professional advisors; governmental authorities where required by law; and successors in interest in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, in which case personal information may be transferred as a business asset.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to: know and access the personal information we hold about you; obtain a portable copy; correct inaccuracies; delete your personal information; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, and certain profiling; and not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.

You may designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf as permitted by law. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will respond as required by applicable law.

7. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as reasonably necessary thereafter to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Upon verified deletion requests, we delete or de-identify personal information except where retention is permitted or required by law. Deletion takes effect immediately in our production database and file storage; residual copies contained in our encrypted backups are overwritten within 30 days.
8. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including row-level access controls isolating household data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We and our partners use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, analytics, and, where applicable, advertising. 10. Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at alerts@rekalld.com and we will delete it.
11. Recall Information Disclaimer
Recall information presented through the Services is republished from public federal sources, may be incomplete, delayed, or superseded, and is provided for informational purposes only. REKALLD is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by NHTSA, CPSC, or any government agency. A “no recalls found” result is not a certification of product safety.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Services or by email, and the “Last Updated” date will be revised. Where required by law, we will obtain your consent before applying material changes to previously collected personal information — including any material expansion of sale or sharing practices.
