Delete your REKALLD account

This page explains how to delete your account and everything we hold about you. It applies to the REKALLD website and to the REKALLD Android app (com.rekalld.app), published by Mike Conway.

Delete it yourself, in the app

Sign in, then go to Settings → Delete account, type DELETE to confirm, and press Delete my account. It happens straight away. There is no waiting period and no confirmation email to wait for — once you press it, your account is gone and you are signed out.

If you cannot sign in

Email alerts@rekalld.com from the address on the account, with the subject Delete my account. We verify the request against the account and delete it within 7 days. We will not act on a deletion request sent from an address we cannot tie to the account — that protection cuts both ways, and it is why the in-app route is faster.

What is deleted

  • Your account and your sign-in credentials.
  • Your household, if you are its only member — together with every item in it, including vehicle identification numbers (VINs), model and serial numbers, purchase records, and locations.
  • Every warranty you have tracked.
  • Every document and photo you uploaded — receipts, labels, manuals, warranty paperwork — and the text we extracted from them.
  • Your recall matches, alerts, and notification history.
  • Push notification tokens for every device you registered.
  • Your consent and privacy-preference records.

What is not deleted

If you share a household with other people, the household and its items belong to everyone in it, not to you alone. Deleting your account removes you and your sign-in, and the items stay with the members who remain. If you were the owner, ownership passes to the longest-standing remaining member so the household is never left without one. Nothing of yours is recoverable afterward either way.

Recall records themselves are not deleted, because they are not yours and they are not personal information: they are public federal safety notices republished from NHTSA, CPSC, FDA, and USDA. Removing your account does not remove a recall from the corpus, and never could.

How long it takes

Deletion takes effect immediately in our production database and file storage — not queued, not soft-deleted, not flagged for later. Residual copies held in our encrypted backups are overwritten within 30 days. We may retain a limited record where the law requires it, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Before you delete

If you want a copy of your inventory first, export it from Settings as a CSV. We cannot produce one for you after deletion, because there is nothing left to produce it from.
